Ladies Spring Fours a Cracker!

The Ladies Spring Fours, played recently, was a huge success!
With 30 teams taking to the greens, the Club was filled with colour and ladies catching up with each other at the beginning of the new season.
Twelve clubs were represented, not counting the composite teams.
Ladies Captain Annette Sheridan welcomed the visitors and acknowledged the sponsors for the event, GXR Plumbing, Gibbons Holden Gosnells and Armadale Steel & Industrial Supplies.
The weather gods were kind and the greens were running true thanks to Tony Greaves and the greens crew, so the scene was set for an exciting competition.
While the morning game got underway, Convenor Chris Emery and her team took to the kitchen preparing lunch of cold meat and salad, followed by Jo’s special “flummery”.
Following lunch, that was enjoyed by all, the teams returned to the greens to fight it out for the top three places.
While the ladies enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea, the results of the day were announced by Match Captain Ann Noble.
The AM winners were the Mandurah team of Jeanette Hislop, K West, S Farmer, D Rundell.
The PM winners Toni Bosch, L McTaggart, I Hogarth, N Gunn were from Victoria Park.
Leeming teams took out the top three places, in a very close contest.
In third place were Sue Shaw, L Davis, P Batt & H Thurston on 6pts +22.
Second place went to Ivy Harburn, S Musgrave, J Nightingale & S Neill on 6pts +24.
The overall winners were Karyn Mears, Marion M, Helen D & Jan P on 6pts +26.
Congratulations to all.
Sincere thanks to Annette Sheridan, Ann Noble and the amazing Ladies Match committee for a job well done.
Thanks also to Chris Emery and the ladies in the kitchen (including Stuart Emery!).
Also thanks to Val Weaver, Jo Dunne, Nell Jones and Marianne Cameron for looking after the raffles and Carolyn Deas who manned the craft table.
Lastly, but by no means least, thank you to all the ladies who attended. Without you, there would be no carnival!
Look forward to seeing you all next year.
