Back to Back Ladies Fours win for Marcia & team

Over the past two Wednesdays the first major championship of the season, the Ray White McGinty 7 Associates Ladies Championship Fours, have been played out.
With 11 teams entered, the competition began on 30 September, with the qualifying rounds of 15 ends.
At the conclusion, Annette Sheridan & team, Marianne Cameron & team, Marcia Kitson & team, and Shelley Hickinbotham & team advanced to the semis in the Major.
In the Plate, Angela Sharp & team, Pat Richter & team, Kay Gee & team, and Margaret Fletcher & team advanced through.
Wednesday 7 October began early in gusty, cool conditions that added to the pressure.
The spectators were treated to some great bowls in the 15 ends that set the scene for the afternoon finals.
In the Major Annette Sheridan, Norma Smith, Linda Mellors & Margaret Munn took on last year’s winners Marcia Kitson, Linda Bryant, Kay Bailey & Sue MacKay.
In the Plate Angela Sharp, Margaret Dillon, Penny Wright & Ann Noble were pitted against Kay Gee, Janice Nightingale, Helen Vaulters & Kerry Cunynghame.
The competition was fierce, with no teams giving quarter in the 17 end competition.
Although a small crowd of spectators, there was loads of encouragement and recognition of the great bowls that were played, which was much appreciated by the players.
Marcia Kitson, Linda Bryant, Kay Bailey & Sue MacKay showed their strength taking out the title 22:11.
In the Plate after a close game for most of the match, Kay Gee, Janice Nightingale, Helen Vaulters & Kerry Cunynghame finished well winning 20:11.
Congratulations to the winners and to the four teams that made the finals.
To Ann Noble and the Match team another well run event, despite the presentations missing the medals and trophy!
All will be accomplished next Tuesday at the Ladies meeting.
A huge thank you to Hazel McGinty who was unable to attend due to work commitments.
