Great Bowls in the Mixed Fours Championship

The semis and finals of the Mixed Fours Championship was played out last Sunday, 15 November in breezy conditions.
The 18 ends of the semis in both the Major and Plate demonstrated great bowls across all teams, setting the stage for a top rate final.
In the Major Angie Sharp, Bert Cruickshank, Margaret & Graham Frederickson were pitted against Dave Bradbury, Kerry & Greg Cunynghame & Laraine Cook.
In the Plate Grant Anderson, Janice Nightingale, Jeff O’Donnell & Sue Kershaw took on Brian Keighley, Ros Little, Ron McKay & Cheryl Keighley.
In the Major Angie & team came out strongly to lead 9:1 at the 6th end. Dave & team picked up a further three to 4:12 by the 9th end.
Angie & team continued to gather strength leading 16:5 by the 12th end.
The next 4 ends belonged to them, picking up a 7 on the 16th end to give them an unbeatable score of 31:5.

Commiserations to Dave Bradbury, Kerry & Greg Cunynghame & Laraine Cook, but congratulations also for taking out the silver!
In the Plate Grant & team set the stage by taking out the first three ends.
Brian & team came back, picking up a 5 to to lead 7:5 on the 5th end.
Over the next 7 ends the teams were evenly matched with both on 12pts at the 11th end.
Brian & team then showed their strength by taking out the next 4 ends.
Grant & team won the 18th end, but Brian & team won the bronze 20:13.
