Ladies Spring Fours Another Big Success for the Club

Yesterday, Friday 16 October was a great day at the Club with the running of the Ladies Spring Fours.
The gala day was sponsored by Club patron and local member Chris Tallentire MLA, member for Thornlie, who made the presentations at the end of the day.
Our thanks also to Scenic Lake Estate and Prisma Print who also sponsored the day’s festivities.
As with the recently played Kookaburra Classic, there was strong representation from clubs across Perth and the regions, with 24 teams taking to the greens.
While the bowls was the major focus of the day, there was plenty of interest in the stalls and raffles! Thanks to everyone who contributed, including the beautiful rug crocheted by Jeanie Boyne.
Following the morning 15 ends, ladies enjoyed a luncheon of cold meat and salad before returning to the greens for the afternoon 15 ends.
Competition was, as always, very strong, with the camaraderie between clubs evident across the rinks.
The winners was Maureen Beard’s team from Safety Bay.
Runners up was the Kalamunda team skippered by Berthe Rathmussen.
In third place was Kay Gee’s Gosnells team.
Thanks to everyone who supported the day.
Sincere thanks to the Match team under Ann Noble’s watchful eye! A great job yet again girls.
Thanks also to Chris Emery and her kitchen team who provided lunch, plus morning and afternoon tea. To everyone who contributed to the success of the day – a huge thank you from the Club!
A personal thank you to Annette Sheridan for taking the photos and sending through. Much appreciated Annette.
