Diggers Cup – Saturday 23 April 2022

38 teams competed, 27 of them visitors from other clubs (we thank you for your support), took to the greens in fantastic weather and a great day was visibly had by all – including the spectators.

A special thank you goes to our sponsor Gillian Goddard, representing Norms Doors, for her generous support and enthusiasm given to this event.

The bar staff kept everyone hydrated. Rob Stasinowsky and Judy Harris – thirst slakers extraordinaire, we thank you.

Thanks go to the Gosnells members who helped make the 2022 Digger’s Cup a very successful day. We also thank the organisers, scoring (Maurice Crabb), and behind-the-scenes helpers for their tireless contribution to this annual pilgrimage and in particular, Albert Pedrotti our delightful MC who perfects his act, year after year with much aplomb.

Ray’s Raffle also gets a mention. (He gets to be important for a day) . . .

The lunch, provided by a bunch of ladies with impeccable credentials (Chris Emery, Carolyn Deas, Leslie Laycock, Heather Golding, Angie Sharpe & Gloria Mcdonald to name but a few – well, all of them actually . . . hit the right spot thus enabling the players to resume their games in the afternoon with renewed vigour.

The local boys from the Metro area outshone their country competitors this year and secured the first four places.

Runners Up: Team Sth Perth.

Third: Team Eaton

Fourth: Team Leeming.
